Fall 2019 One Room Challenge – Week 5 | Mom Cave

November 4, 2019

Week 5 of the One Room Challenge has come and gone. To be honest, it was pretty anti-climatic. I realize that in all of my excitement to get started that I front loaded most of my projects. So now that we are getting closer to the finish line I feel like there is not much to share that would not reveal it all. I am making so many mental notes for the next challenge about how I want to approach and organize everything. I have also realized that six weeks is a long time! I am a millennial so I typically like to see things happen pretty much overnight lol. I think I may be jumping on the 2-3 day transformation train soon!

This week the big change in the room came in the form of lights. I finally pulled the trigger on the lights for over my desk and I am so happy with how that turned out. I debated for awhile about getting two or three lights. I finally settled on getting two based on the design on the wall and the overall size of the space and the lights. I feel like three lights would have looked extremely cramped up there.

Now of course, these lights are not hardwired. We will be doing the puck light hack from Nesting with Grace. In full transparency, I attempted to do it using the velcro that came with the puck lights and I almost got knocked out when they came flying down. Those puck lights fell with such intensity, I moved out of the way so fast! Thankfully they missed me and I will reapply them with the proper velcro that is industrial strength. The only other thing we worked on this week was finishing that small section of the stenciled wall and spray painting the picture frames for the gallery wall. I am so excited for the final reveal this Thursday and even more excited to see all of the other beautiful room transformations. Such a cute space you’ve created for yourself. Love the stencil design. I bet that was a lot of work. Well worth it though! Looking forward to seeing your reveal.
