When we made the decision to purchase new windows for our home, we knew that we would not take any shortcuts. So, I reached out to Renewal by Andersen and scheduled an in home consultation. I thought that we would schedule a few consultations with other companies to compare, however, after meeting with the Renewal by Andersen representative we were sold! 

In the consultation, the Renewal by Andersen representative went into great detail about the various products and components. It was a ton of great information! We learned so much during this meeting, including the fact that our old windows were not energy efficient at all. He had several tools and models that explained why we lacked energy efficiency. Suddenly, it all made sense as to why we had trouble heating and cooling certain spaces, or why certain windows were drafty. We even had a problem with wasps slipping in through the cracks in the frame. Our boys came up with a temporary solution to stuff the gaps and holes with paper towels. While their solution was fairly effective, it obviously was not a good solution for the long run. 

The windows were custom made so we did have a short wait from the time we had our consultation until the day of install. When install day arrived, I was over the moon excited. I literally went from room to room dancing and singing before the team arrived. The guys arrived on time and after briefly checking in they got to work. 

We had thirteen windows replaced and I was convinced that it would take at least two days to get the job done. I was wrong! The team came in and knocked it out in one day! I was so impressed with how quickly they worked and at the quality of the windows. 

I think my favorite feature of our new windows are the screens! They are TruScene screens and they literally look like they are not even there! I have always disliked how our old window screens gave the windows almost like a tint, altering the way the outside looked and impacting the way the light flowed into our home. With our new screens you cannot even tell that we have them. My mother stopped by to see the windows (our entire family was excited about the new windows) and was concerned that we did not have screens. She had to get up super close to the window to actually see them! 

We are also looking forward to the energy savings. Our old windows were origingal to our 1970s home and were extremely drafty in the winter and in the summer they caused our rooms to take forever to cool down. Thankfully, the issue of heating and cooling our home has become so much easier and quicker! We noticed a difference almost immediately in the way the house felt so much cooler. 

Overall, we are very pleased with our Renewal by Andersen experience and windows. My only regret is that we did not contact them sooner!
