Our Experience with LVP from NovaFloor

May 6, 2022

We got new floors installed and we are all in love! Y’all these floors are beautiful and have already completely changed the look and feel of our home! I just walk room to room admiring how beautiful they are and how they truly elevate our spaces.

We were able to partner with NovaFloor on this project and the quality of the flooring is amazing! When I received the samples, I was pleasantly surprised as I was expecting something thin and flimsy. Let me tell you, these floors are not thin nor are they flimsy! Our flooring contractor was even impressed with the quality when he initially picked up one of the pieces! After sitting with the samples for a while and going back and forth between a few, we settled on Brushed Oak Canyon in the Dansbee collection. We felt that it would flow well with the existing flooring on our first level and work well with the current aesthetic of our home. I love how it is a medium brown, not too cool and not too warm.

Why luxury vinyl plank?

One word… BOYS!

With three little boys we knew that we wanted something that would withstand the pounding they would put them through. Our little guys play rough and tough! I grew up in homes with hardwood floors and my parents were always so concerned with them getting damaged. We had to be careful about sliding our chairs in, walking with certain types of shoes, wiping up spills immediately, etc. With all of that care, the floors were still scratched up! LVP would allow us to avoid all of that completely! We have already had a few incidents with the boys, the new floors, and paint… and it cleaned up so easily!

We also love that LVP requires very little maintenance. Whereas, other floors require refinishing, staining, etc to maintain their look and quality over the years, LVP does not. Outside of routine cleaning (sweeping and mopping), I do not expect to have to do much more to maintain them as time goes on. That part seriously excites me!

Why NovaFloor?

One of the main things that I like about NovaFloor is how conscious they are about their environmental responsibility. Their flooring goes through a rigorous testing process to ensure they meet the standards for VOCs and they hold several certifications such as, GREENGUARD Gold and FloorScore, which are two of the most recognized indoor air quality certifications for hard flooring. Their products are also Phthalates-free. The quality of the flooring is also amazing and when you add their focus on sustainability it just takes them up a notch in my book. Installation Process

We hired out the installation of these floors, but as people who have DIYed so many projects it was hard not to jump in and at least try it out. Thankfully, our installers were super nice and willing to show us just how easy it is to install these luxury vinyl floors.

After putting in a few pieces, we left and let the professionals get back to work. The entire install took less than two days for our entire upstairs and that includes several breaks and semi-late start times. We elected to have the flooring flow continuously from one room to another so transition pieces were not needed in our space, however if you do need them they are available. The support team and customer service is also top notch so if you do need assistance with something they are very responsive.
I am just so pleased with how these floors turned out. I am new to luxury vinyl flooring but I will no longer be a stranger! If you are in the market for new floors I would definitely suggest NovaFloor!
