I might have been a little excited when I received the Flooring America 2021 Style Watch Challenge box in the mail. I mean, getting to see and hold all of those flooring samples seriously had me giddy! I am not quite sure what I was expecting but the quality of all of the samples was excellent.
They even included a few goodies to help with the mood board creation process. You know your girl loves goodies! It included a box of Pantone color cards, a paint color card deck, a mug with coffee, a blanket, design magazine, and gift cards to Home Goods and Hobby Lobby. The box sounds perfect right?
The most difficult part was choosing the flooring I wanted to include in the mood board. I decided to create an actual mood board for my she shed design, rather than putting together a hypothetical mood board. I feel like I stared at these floor samples for days before I made a decision. So many of the samples could have easily worked with the color and design I had in mind. However, once I determined that the mood board was going to be for the she shed I knew that the carpet options were automatically eliminated. The she shed is obviously located in the middle of our yard, directly across from the garden and while the carpet samples were beautiful, I think they would be better suited on the inside of our home.
I chose a flooring that would be easy to clean up if mud and dirt was tracked in and that would not be damaged if it were to get wet. I chose the Paramount Plank by Galvanite flooring sample and I love it! This flooring is waterproof, kid friendly, and pet approved! I mean I don’t currently have any pets but maybe one day I will! It definitely sounds like it would be durable enough to withstand my dirty garden boots!
Using the color cards they included in the box, I walked around the room to see how the light hit the colors. I absolutely fell in love with these two green colors. It took me right back to childhood! My favorite color as a child was forest green. It just seems so fitting to use the same color in my she shed. I feel like it will bring nature into my she shed. I can already see the tone on tone green with green velvet curtains and white furniture!
The Paramount Plank by Galvanite floor sample really helped to tie everything together and it helped to create a solid foundation for my mood board. I wanted something that would support and help carry the bold color without taking over or distracting. This flooring is absolutely beautiful. I just love how it looks with the greens, gold, and touches of white.
